For the second week in a row, Andy lost the toss and Stevenage were put into bat.
The V's got off to a bad start with the top 3 batsman, unusually getting out in identical fashion. Dixit, Savate and Chopde were all caught and bowled by Ickleford's opening bowler, Dalrymple. Max Peebles was bowled for 2 in the following over which left Stevenage 25-4. Andy Glowdansky made 32, but during that time Zach was run out, Saurabh out LBW, and when Andy fell it was now 65-7. A really impressive 19 over partnership, worth 86, between Amey and Abdul followed to get Stevenage up to a competitive score. Abdul was run out in the last over for 40, trying to get back on strike, whilst Amey finished on 38* - his highest ever score for the club.
With the confidence of recent wins and a score the V's believed they could defend, Luke picked up the key wicket of their opener for 18. 3 more quick wickets from Abdul, Amey and Ninad fell, reducing Ickleford to 42-4. The 5th wicket fell for 67 in the 25th over, before a good partnership between their number 5 & 7 batsman. The game looked to be sliding away from the 5's, with Ickleford only needing 24 to win from 6 overs, with 4 wickets in hand. Amey then struck with wickets in back to back balls, getting their number 7 batsman caught on the boundary for 39. He then followed it up with an LBW the next ball. Dipak then bowled the other set batsman the following over, which put the game in Stevenage's grasp. Ickleford now needed 19 runs and Stevenage 1 wicket and with a couple of fortunate edges for 4, the target was reduced to single figures. Amey then rounded off his fantastic day, by bowling Kench out for 1 and finishing with figures 7.2-1-32-4.
The V's now have back-to-back Home games against sides around them in the table.
